Shaving acne: tips for achieving smooth, pain-free and hydrated skin

The following tips will help you get your best shave, no matter what shape your skin is in.

Tip 1:

Wash and hydrate your face and neck before shaving. A face wash or facial scrub will warm, deep clean, and help soften facial hair before you shave. You also should hydrate skin with warm water for at least three minutes to soften your facial hair and make it easier to cut.

Tip 2:

Choose a shave gel designed to remove dirt and oil, such as Fusion® Hydra Shave Gel Tough Beard.

Tip 3:

Go easy—use light, gentle strokes when shaving. This is especially important for areas of your skin that are broken out. The razor should do the work, not you.

Tip 4:

Apply a light, post-shave moisturiser, such as Series® 2-in-1 Intense Cooling Aftershave Balm, after you shave. This will help ensure that your skin does not overcompensate for dryness by producing more oil.

Tip 5:

Wash your face at night with a soap-free scrub to remove the daily buildup of oil.
