Design with less plastic
We shifted most of our premium refillable razor line-up1 in North America and Western Europe from plastic to a recyclable paper box. In doing so, over 2020, 2021 and 2022, we have eliminated approximately 1094,000 kgs of plastic (1094 metric tons) globally, the equivalent of over 110 million water bottles.2
Design with better materials
We have introduced at least 40% recycled content in our premium refillable razor paper packaging1 in North America and Western Europe. We're also increasing recycled plastics (PCR) content in our disposable razors.
Design for durability
Our refillable razors are built to last. Reduce handle waste by 80% by using them for five years instead of one.
Design for recyclability
To give materials a second life, we incorporate more recycled and recyclable materials into our products and packaging. Our newest introduction, GilletteLabs with Exfoliating Bar is offered in a recyclable paper box made from FSC certified material.

We launched the first razor recycling program in partnership with TerraCycle in the U.S. in 2019. This partnership aims to improve the collection and recyclability of razors in general - not just Gillette but all other brands’ razors too - in more locations around the world. Learn how at
